Afraid of Science

I really wonder why the Church is afraid of science. Afraid that evolution and study of the universe will "prove" that God doesn't exist. If God is true and really is there, then what else will science do other than prove he exists?

Wasn't Darwin originally sponsored by the church? He wasn't sent to "disprove" Gods existence, we went to study more on how his creation worked.

Even as a Christian I still believe in the possibility of evolution. I'm not saying that it is what exactly happened, but I'm not saying it didn't. I belive that it took time for the earth to form under God's hand. Evolution is believed to have taken many years for the changes to happen. The Bible says that God formed the different parts of creation on different days. Later in the Bible is says that: 2 Peter 3:8 "8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." So it is possible that Genesis talking about the different days was speaking in a generality about how it happened. It could have taken place over a Lords day,and not a single day. I doubt that God instantly made creation on single days.

We will never really know. Many theories will be put forth, and most of them wont be correct. We can only truly know the truth when we have met with him in heaven.
